Tuesday 10th November, Savannah GA (0 miles)

We hunkered down and prepared for the bad weather. Taking advantage of the dry morning we took a tour trolley around historic downtown to check out the local sights, it was really worth it. Normally we shy away from this touristy malarkey but Savannah has a huge historical district that is in fine fettle along with tour guides that are busting with local knowledge. Mind you some of the stories grew beards along the way and statistics varied to our amusement. The architecture is wonderful and the city was cleverly planned so a series of small squares set out in grid line formation offset from the river. Originally designed as areas to set up blockades to protect the colony, they now become peaceful green oasis amid the city.

The rain arrived in the afternoon, what a gully washer! We hopped off the tour trolley as close as possible to Q, low and behold, who do we bumped into but Jim & Bonnie from DANA. It was off to Q for some afternoon Guinness, a fine French beer, and catch up on the cruising gossip & scandal.

Cooked a feast on board that night, roasted butterflied leg of lamb with, roasted acorn squash drizzled with cognac mushroom sauce accompanied by a splendid Merlot and asparagus.

Seeing we were in Savannah and keeping up with our newly introduced tradition we watched some locally grown cinematographic, Forest Gump. Here are some shots of scene locations of movies made in Savannah
